Things To Do

Walking, Cycling, Motorbiking, Shopping, Eating...
North Yorkshire has it all.

No matter how you choose to spend your time, relaxing and unwinding from the everyday hustle and bustle just seem to be a natural by-product when you visit North Yorkshire.

Brimham Rocks & Fountains Abbey

Once known as Brimham Crags,  (just 9 miles from reservoir View Holiday Cottages) In 1132 nearby Fountains Abbey was founded and the Cistercian Monks grazed livestock at Brimham. Following the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539 the land passed into private hands and gained mass appeal in 1786 when Major Hayman Rooke visited the rocks and declared that they were carved by druids.

Stump Cross Caverns

An ancient natural cave formation deep underneath the Yorkshire Dales. Caves, cafe, cinema, shop, hilltop walks and visitor centre (Just 9 miles from Reservoir View Holiday Cottages)

How Stean Gorge

Specialising in outdoor pursuits, group activities, team-building days and visitor attractions (just 5 miles from Reservoir View Holiday Cottages) How Stean Gorge is a spectacular limestone ravine carved out over thousands of years by waterflow and is the perfect location for a family day out as well as outdoor activities like gorge walking, caving, rock climbing, canyoning and abseiling.

Betty's Tea rooms

Famous for the most delicious food and drink, it’s not uncommon to see a queue to get into Betty’s tea rooms. We are lucky enough to have more than one Betty’s cafe close by with Harrogate being the closest (Just 14 miles from Reservoir View Holiday Cottages) If you don’t want to queue you can pop into the shop and pick up some delightful treats to take away. My favourite is the fat Rascal.
